We started the solar energy project in October 2021 at the Oboya location, Qingdao, China. Now in January 2022, the solar energy facilities were finally installed. The roofs of Oboya packaging company's buildings are covered by solar panels of a total of 2,600 square meters. The capacity is 265 kilowatts and every year it can generate electricity of at least 360,000 kilowatts. As far as we know, Oboya Horticulture industries is the first manufactures in the flower industry to invest in solar energy power plants in China.
Qingdao has a large range of solar energy, which makes it possible for us to have the goal of being able to cover 90% of our energy needs with the help of solar power plants. We definitely plan to expand the project, as solar energy is naturally more sustainable than fossil fuel energy sources and is more environmentally sustainable. It converts solar energy into electrical energy and uses the largest, most sustainable resource on the planet, sunlight.
Sustainability is a fundamental aspect for us as a company. We are therefore pleased to be able to present our new solar energy project and take a big step closer to working to reduce our use of fossil fuels in our energy use.
Here in the pictures you can see before and after pictures of the solar panels that cover the entire Oboya Packaging Company buildings.
